Teacher – Foreign Language (Spanish) – K-6, Long‑Term Substitute, 0.4 FTE Otis / 0.6 FTE Bradley, School Year .
Position Start / End: March 13 2026 – June 30 2026.
OverviewBPS seeks an exceptional Foreign Language Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This long‑term substitute position begins at the per diem rate and allows experienced educators to serve where their efforts matter.
Responsibilities- Teach Spanish to K‑6 students.
- Develop and deliver standards‑aligned instruction.
- Assess student learning regularly and adjust instruction to reach goals.
- Model high expectations and professional enthusiasm.
- Build an equitable and inclusive classroom community.
- Engage families and collaborate with colleagues.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree.
- Hold an active Massachusetts Teaching License in Spanish for K‑6.
- Meet state and federal licensing and NCLB Highly Qualified standards.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Fluency in a BPS official language (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali).
- Certification in Moderate Disabilities or ESL at K‑6.
