Responsibilities- Partner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for students
- Work as co‑teacher / teaching assistant within the classroom
- Implement the lead teacher's lesson plans
- Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing materials one‑on‑one or in small groups
- Enforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behavior
- Assist lead teacher with record keeping
- Lead small group and individual instruction using identified science‑based interventions focused on student difficulties
- Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation
- Support individual students in maintaining on‑task behavior
- Collaborate with grade‑level special educators to implement supports and accommodations for individual students
- Assist lead teacher in maintaining two‑way communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings as required
- Provide input to individual student success plans
- Assist with universal screening of students
- Utilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventions
- Supervise student groups as assigned by the schedule

- Assist teacher with maintenance of classroom environment, including preparation for lessons and breakdown of activities
- Assist with administrative duties including but not limited arrival/dismissal, lunch and recess
- Utilize feedback to reflect on skills and improve performance to improve supports for students
- Substitute for classroom teacher during meetings, professional development as needed
- Supervise assigned lunch and recess duties
- Perform related duties as requested to support a safe learning environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required
- 2 years of college
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work closely and collaborate on a professional team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong oral communication skills
- Flexible and able to work in a fast‑paced, highly demanding environment
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Early Childhood, Elementary, ESL or Special Education degree
- Bilingual – Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole
Salary commensurate with experience
