• Partner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for students
• Work as co‑teacher / teaching assistant within the classroom
• Implement the lead teacher's lesson plans
• Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing materials one‑on‑one or in small groups
• Enforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behavior
• Assist lead teacher with record keeping
• Lead small group and individual instruction using identified science‑based interventions focused on student difficulties
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation
• Support individual students in maintaining on‑task behavior
• Collaborate with grade‑level special educators to implement supports and accommodations for individual students
• Assist lead teacher in maintaining two‑way communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings as required
• Provide input to individual student success plans
• Assist with universal screening of students
• Utilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventions
• Supervise student groups as assigned by the schedule

• Assist teacher with maintenance of classroom environment, including preparation for lessons and breakdown of activities
• Assist with administrative duties including but not limited arrival/dismissal, lunch and recess
• Utilize feedback to reflect on skills and improve performance to improve supports for students
• Substitute for classroom teacher during meetings, professional development as needed
• Supervise assigned lunch and recess duties
• Perform related duties as requested to support a safe learning environment
• Other duties as assigned

Required

• 2 years of college
• Experience working with children
• Ability to work closely and collaborate on a professional team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong oral communication skills
• Flexible and able to work in a fast‑paced, highly demanding environment

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree
• Early Childhood, Elementary, ESL or Special Education degree
• Bilingual – Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole
