Compensation: $21.00 - $31.00 / hour
DescriptionCome join our talented team of Early Education Teachers at the YMCA of Greater Boston! We are seeking professional and engaging teachers for our Child Development Programs across the City and Suburban neighborhoods of Boston. The YMCA of Greater Boston provides excellent family-centered infant, toddler, preschool, and after school care. We are looking for EEC (Early Education and Care) certified teachers to enrich the lives of the children we serve.
InfantTeacher Responsibilities
- Keep the safety of children as a first priority. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well‑being with the children, families, and other staff.
- Plan and implement age‑appropriate curriculum that fosters children’s development.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of children in the classroom.
- Conduct child assessments and provide feedback and recommendations to parents and caregivers.
- Lead by example, help interpret the YMCA character values of children, staff, and families. Be a positive healthy role model.
- Use positive and constructive methods of behavior management and ensure that all staff do the same.
- Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and guide transitions smoothly.
- Collaborate with the co‑teacher in the design of the classroom space. Responsible for making sure that materials are ready for use and put away at the end of the day.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills; follow all regulations to ensure children are happy, safe, and healthy.
- Mission driven and committed to carrying out the mission and goals of the YMCA.
- A people person with good human relations skills to facilitate positive relationships with community agencies, staff, families, and program participants.
- Loves working with kids and enjoys creating amazing educational experiences to help them learn and grow.
- At least 21 years old and meet the requirements for the Department of Early Education and Care. Must have a certification from EEC.
- Will become First Aid and CPR certified within the first six months of employment.
- Will obtain Child Abuse Prevention Training within the first 60 days of employment, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, and Sexual Harassment Training within the first 60 days of employment.
