This is a long‑term substitute position expected to start on 11/03/2025 and end on 02/06/2026. All substitute teachers are hired as per diem subs, even in long‑term assignments. All substitutes begin at the per diem rate of pay. For more information on becoming a BPS sub, refer to the website.
Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Physical Education Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Reports to:
Principal/Head of School
- Teach Physical Education.

- Hold a Bachelor's degree.
- Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Physical Education at the appropriate level.
- Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by BPS.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Fluency in one of BPS’s official languages:
Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali. - Certification in Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language at appropriate grade levels.
