Job Summary
This is a long‑term substitute position expected to start on 2/14/2026 and end on the last day of school. The role is for a certified Early Childhood and Special Education Teacher who will instruct inclusive Early Childhood General Curriculum with students of special needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
Reports to: Principal/Head of School.
Teach Early Childhood General Curriculum in a setting inclusive of students with special needs and SEI. Implement district learning goals and objectives in alignment with state frameworks, identify access points for student portfolio development, and provide small‑group instruction for students diagnosed with moderate to severe cognitive delays. Write and implement goals consistent with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and deliver timely progress reports.
Provide accommodations for student learning and testing, develop curriculum when needed, and analyze student work to prepare for MCAS Alternative Assessment. Collaborate with the school team to support staff members in meeting student needs for modification.

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities (PK‑8) and Early Childhood.
- Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and highly qualified.
- Meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by Boston Public Schools.
- Current authorization to work in the United States – must have such authorization by first day of employment.
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Degree in Special Education.
- Either SEI Endorsement or ESL License (PK‑6).
- Fluency in one of Boston Public Schools’ official languages:
Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali. - Preferred certification in the subject area and in Moderate Disabilities and/or English as a Second Language (appropriate grade level).
