Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Computer Tutor is to provide one‑on‑one or group support to students who are currently enrolled in computer courses. The tutor's work is informed by best practices and the mission of the Tutoring & Academic Support Center.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
  • Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
  • Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
  • Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
  • Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Attending staff meetings several times each semester.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computers or a related area is required.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, HTML5, SQL, and/or Python highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to work with a faculty, staff, and student population.
  • Focus on computer science, computer information technology, and/or computer media technology.
Additional Information

Salary: $35.31 an hour for 18 hours a week. Part‑Time Non‑Benefited position.
