Base pay range
: $17.50/hr – $21.50/hr.

The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8 – Friday, August 14, 2026
. In addition to on‑the‑job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours per week. Interns will earn $17.50–$21.50 per hour.

This role is hybrid (3– days per week on site) at 400 Brookline Avenue, Boston. Specific work hours will be determined by the supervisor.

What You’ll Do
  • Gain knowledge of the Trauma and Injury Prevention Programs at BCH and how their systems function.
  • Gain training and knowledge of injury prevention and trauma topics.
  • Promote educational injury prevention materials.
  • Participate in outreach programs and community events with the Injury Prevention specialists.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the Trauma Center on projects.
  • Attend a 2‑day program orientation and onboarding.
  • Participate in virtual and in‑person workshops and activities.

Who You Are
  • Undergraduate college student in good academic standing, enrolled in a two‑or four‑year program for Fall 2026, interested in working in healthcare.
  • Desire to promote and advocate for prevention of injury in children.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with members of the Trauma/Injury Prevention team.
  • Comfort interacting with and providing education for children and families about injury prevention.
  • Flexible schedule to participate in community events.
Recruitment Process
  • Internship opportunities:
    Encourage students to review posted COACH internship opportunities and apply to no more than three postings.
  • Resume review & interviews:
    Applications will be reviewed; screenings and interviews scheduled as appropriate. Resumes are required; assistance may be sought from school career center or contact coachvard.edu.
  • Offer decision:
    Follow up within one week of interview. Decisions regarding program acceptance made in March.
  • Onboarding:
    Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program.
  • Onboarding tasks include scheduling an appointment during on‑site onboarding days, obtaining appropriate work permits and documentation, providing health records, proof of employment eligibility, and media release.
