Trauma and Injury Prevention – Summer 2026 COACH Program

Base pay range
: $17.50/hr – $21.50/hr.
The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8 – Friday, August 14, 2026
. In addition to on‑the‑job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours per week. Interns will earn $17.50–$21.50 per hour.
This role is hybrid (3– days per week on site) at 400 Brookline Avenue, Boston. Specific work hours will be determined by the supervisor.
What You’ll Do- Gain knowledge of the Trauma and Injury Prevention Programs at BCH and how their systems function.
- Gain training and knowledge of injury prevention and trauma topics.
- Promote educational injury prevention materials.
- Participate in outreach programs and community events with the Injury Prevention specialists.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the Trauma Center on projects.
- Attend a 2‑day program orientation and onboarding.
- Participate in virtual and in‑person workshops and activities.
- Experience with outreach, community involvement, bedside manner.
- Organizational skills.
- Computer skills.
- Job‑ready skills for the healthcare industry.
- Increased knowledge of healthcare career pathways.

- Peer cohort and cohort mentor to support learning and development.

- Undergraduate college student in good academic standing, enrolled in a two‑or four‑year program for Fall 2026, interested in working in healthcare.
- Desire to promote and advocate for prevention of injury in children.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of the Trauma/Injury Prevention team.
- Comfort interacting with and providing education for children and families about injury prevention.
- Flexible schedule to participate in community events.
- Internship opportunities:

Applications will be reviewed; screenings and interviews scheduled as appropriate. Resumes are required; assistance may be sought from school career center or contact coachvard.edu. - Offer decision:
Follow up within one week of interview. Decisions regarding program acceptance made in March. - Onboarding:
Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program. - Onboarding tasks include scheduling an appointment during on‑site onboarding days, obtaining appropriate work permits and documentation, providing health records, proof of employment eligibility, and media release.
