Education Administration, Summer Seasonal
Full-time, temporary, in-person position in the Boston University Summer Term office. Main responsibility is to respond to, communicate about, and document student life issues as they arise during weekday working hours. Meet with students regarding a range of student life concerns and collaborate with senior team to address and resolve ongoing issues/conflicts. Communicates with residential staff about ongoing urgent, emergency, or crisis concerns regarding high-school program participants and supports care coordination.
Makes decisions on how to manage incidents and disciplinary concerns, using training in program policies and campus resources, and communicates with parents/guardians and Summer Term staff if needed. Design and lead residential staff training workshops. May be asked to assist with other administrative tasks as needed. This is a temporary on-campus position from June 1-August 7, and requires an on-campus presence Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and attendance at all program orientations.
May serve in after hours on call chain based on program needs.
Qualifications:
BA/BS required. Must be highly organized, comfortable making decisions, and respond well to emergency situations. Previous experience in residence life, student affairs, education, counseling, social work, or crisis management preferred.
