What You Will Do:
We have an excellent opportunity within our transportation development permitting group. The successful candidate will assist senior staff on a variety of transportation engineering projects. Specific task work will include, but is not limited to, trip generation calculations, bicycle level of stress analysis, traffic operations analysis, transit capacity analysis, parking demand assessments, transportation conceptual planning, site design assistance, and transportation report production.
Required
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Engineering or Planning
- 2-4 years’ experience; recent graduates considered
- Experience with traffic impact assessments and the development permitting process
- Experience with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Auto Turn a plus
- Familiarity with the City of Boston and MassDOT traffic impact analysis and design a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a team environment as an individual contributor and enjoy learning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize critical thinking and judgment to define, analyze, and resolve problems and issues
