. Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional energy services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV.
As such Welty Energy is looking for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. The Senior Transmission Line Engineer will lead the technical review process for our client(s)’s transmission line projects, ensuring compliance with client standards and expectations.
While this position is primarily remote, we do ask that candidates reside in Pittsburgh, PA or in and around the New England area due to client expectations.
Role and Responsibilities- Technical review of high voltage transmission line designs (34kV – 500kV). Prepare construction plan documents as required per project. Assist with the preparation of proposals. Perform site visits when necessary. Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior engineering staff. Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President.
- Provide technical assistance to the Welty Energy Project Management Team.
- Take a lead role in growing the Welty Energy Transmission Line Engineering team.
- Interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of all work product.
- Perform analysis/modeling of wood, steel, and lattice structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering at an ABET-accredited university is preferred.
- We will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Environmental, Architectural, Structural or similar technical field.
- 5-10 years+ of experience as a Transmission Line Engineer well versed in design engineering of high voltage transmission lines (34kV – 500kV).
- PE license advantageous
- Comfortable with Travel 15-20% travel (project specific).
