Job DescriptionATANE Engineers, P.C. is seeking motivated and qualified NDT Inspector/Technician specializing in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to support our growing portfolio of infrastructure, bridge, and ancillary structure projects. This is a southern Massachusetts opportunity for inspectors who are detail-oriented, self-driven, and committed to quality assurance in hands-on field assessment of structural steel bridge components and ancillary structures (overhead & side supported highway signs, mast arms, lighting).
Candidates must be open to in-state travel and flexible work schedules, including night shifts and weekends as required.
- Perform visual and UT testing of structural steel bridge and ancillary structure components and welded connections to pinpoint any defects and ensure the quality and structural integrity of the components in accordance with appropriate standards and project specifications
- Possess a good understanding of the science and technology of metals and their properties (metallurgy)
- Understand the primary types of UT testing, including Pulse-Echo, Through-Transmission and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) technics, in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
- Understand surface preparation and equipment calibration techniques
- Prepare clear, accurate daily inspection reports and maintain organized documentation
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the ATANE project team and clients
- Collaborate with project managers and quality assurance staff to meet deliverables and schedules
- Hourly Rate: $30–$55/hour

Job Requirements Qualifications Education & Certifications- High School Diploma or GED –
Required - Certification in MT, PT, UT, RT & ET to ASNT SNT-TC-1A –

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital reporting platforms
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel and work outdoors outdoors
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated positions
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Committed to safety, quality, and professionalism in the field
