Civil Grid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data. The consolidated information is sold via our collaborative SaaS mapping platform to engineers and developers who need it to make early‑stage decisions on real estate and infrastructure projects. Real‑time data access reduces labor and project delays, accelerates decision making and reduces project risk. Collaborative features ensure faster information flow and decisioning inside and outside the organization and better project insight retention over time.
Responsibilities- Lead backend services that integrate AI into Civil Grid’s geospatial platform.
- Collaborate with product leaders to prioritize technical scope and refine user workflows; translate product goals into system architecture and reliable feature delivery.
- Support junior engineers, facilitate knowledge‑sharing, and champion code quality, best practices, and shared ownership.
- Ensure platform performance at scale; monitor metrics and maintain reliability, accuracy, and responsiveness.
- 5+ years experience building complex systems
- Experience with AI/ML tooling and integration into user‑focused products.
- Experience with building agents using AWS Bedrock Agent Core
- Strong backend skills:
Python, Node.js, Go, or similar languages - Dev Ops competence: CI/CD, cloud architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Effective communicator, with collaborative experience in product‑centric environments.
