Role Overview:
Our Client is seeking a hands-on Project Manager with deep expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems preferred to oversee complex construction/ mechanical projects from start to finish. In this hybrid role, you’ll manage subcontractors, drive scheduling, monitor budgets, and interface directly with clients. The ideal candidate is based in Eastern MA, with flexibility to be on site a few days a week with most of the project in the New England area with limited overnight travel!

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute multiple ammonia refrigeration projects ranging from $500K to $4M+ in size
• Oversee subcontractors, field operations, and installation quality
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress tracking through Autodesk ACC Build (or similar)
• Review and approve submittals, RFIs, technical drawings, and specs
• Conduct weekly site visits and interface with technicians, foremen, and clients
• Collaborate closely with in-house engineering, estimating, and service teams
• Ensure safety compliance, site inspections, and risk mitigation
• Prepare and track project logs, change orders, and billing
• Participate in internal planning and scheduling meetings
• Mentor junior PMs and support department leadership as needed

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing mechanical or Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration projects
• Proven expertise in industrial refrigeration and ammonia systems
• Experience in food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments
• Strong project management skills, including scope, cost, and risk management
• Solid technical foundation — capable of reviewing drawings and specs
• Comfortable managing subcontractors and field teams on site
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk ACC Build (preferred), or Procore-type platforms
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Based in New England with willingness to travel regionally
