If you've spent the last 5+ years in the field working on HVAC systems in commercial and multi-family buildings, you know the gap between what gets spec'd and what actually performs.

We're looking for a Senior Energy Engineer in either NYC or Boston, MA , who's ready to lead decarbonization and commissioning work that moves the needle, not just check boxes.

Work Authorization :
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Steven Winter Associates (SWA) does not sponsor employment-based visas (e.g., H-1B).

Salary Range :
The proposed annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $130,000 based on a 40-hour work schedule. The final salary may vary depending on confirmed job-related skills and experience.

What You'll Actually Do

• We're not talking about sitting behind a desk running the same energy models all day. You'll be :

• Getting hands‑on with commissioning projects (new construction AND retrofits)

• Leading decarbonization studies that shape how buildings operate for decades

• Inspecting cutting‑edge electrification tech in the field

• Training the next generation of energy engineers

• Solving problems that don't have cookie‑cutter solutions

You're Our Person If

• You've got 5+ years HVAC systems in large commercial or multi-family buildings

• Field inspections are your jam (MEP equipment doesn't intimidate you)

• You can run building energy calculations in your sleep

• You've led projects from "what if?" to "we did it!"

• Excel is your canvas (advanced proficiency required)

Bachelor's in engineering, but if you've got the experience and skills, we want to explore what you bring too.
