The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that haven’t existed for over a decade. As a result, our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner’s Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines; monitor and communicate project status; provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level.

• Project roles typically include lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager; may include project manager; most tasks performed in a collaborative manner with engineers and designers from several other disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design.

• Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise.

• Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.

• Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired.

• Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects.

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs.

• Proficient at working within an established schedule and budget.

• Position will include an expectation of less than 10% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering

• A minimum of 10 years of experience

• Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license

• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector

• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, and Revit)

• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
