One of the largest manufacturers of water valves globally, specializing in plumbing and heating solutions. Product portfolio includes water pressure regulators, thermostatic mixing valves, backflow prev enters, and other advanced valve technologies.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and testing valve products for residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing and heating applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, fluid dynamics, and product development processes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to the design and development of new valve products, including water pressure regulators and other plumbing/heating valves.
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Creo).
- Conduct engineering analysis including FEA, CFD, and tolerance stack-ups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, marketing, and supply chain to ensure product feasibility and alignment with customer needs.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASSE, CSA, NSF).
- Support prototyping, pilot builds, and transition to production.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in valve design and materials.
- Maintain documentation and support regulatory approvals and certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in product development, preferably in plumbing, HVAC, or fluid control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
- Experience with valve design, pressure regulation, and flow control technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and testing protocols.
- Experience with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
- Lean product development and DFMA principles.
