Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in marine engineering and extensive experience in AutoCAD. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing technical drawings, as well as communicating and documenting technical specifications and changes for Navy ships.

• Design and develop drawings in AutoCAD.
• Check and review technical drawings for accuracy.
• Interpret and apply technical correspondence, specifications, and manuals.
• Draft technical correspondence.
• Survey and document conditions on-board Navy ships to ensure accurate SID development.
• Communicate and document problems and solutions clearly and precisely.
• Coordinate and communicate information and changes across multi-disciplinary programs to ensure comprehensive Ship Alteration drawing packages.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Mechanical engineering expertise.
• Experience in marine engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• CAD design skills.
• Experience with Navy projects.

• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• US Navy or shipyard-related experience required.
• HVAC design experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication skills.

This position is onsite five days a week in a mid-sized company located in the seaport area. The office environment is smaller, fostering a strong sense of teamwork among engineers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
