Sensor Lab Test Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Sensor Lab Test Engineer to support the development, characterization, and validation of advanced 2D and 3D sensing technologies used in robotics and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with sensor testing, electro-optical testing, Python automation, image quality analysis, and laboratory test equipment
.

• Perform characterization and validation testing of 2D and 3D sensors
  .
• Conduct image-quality testing for resolution, noise, distortion, color accuracy, dynamic range, and uniformity
  .
• Test 3D sensing technologies including LiDAR, Time-of-Flight (ToF), stereo vision, and structured light
  .
• Set up and maintain optical test benches, fixtures, calibration targets, and laboratory equipment.
• Analyze point clouds, depth accuracy, range accuracy, field of view, and sensor performance
  .
• Use Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for test automation, data analysis, and reporting.
• Operate laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, optical measurement equipment, and light sources
  .
• Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and validation methodologies.
• Troubleshoot sensor and hardware issues and support root-cause analysis
  .
• Develop automated test solutions to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, calibration schedules, SOPs, and documentation.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate test results to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, robotics, and product engineering teams
  .

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  .
• 5+ years of experience in sensor testing, hardware validation, electro-optical testing, or similar engineering roles
  .
• Hands-on experience with 2D/3D sensors and image-quality characterization
  .
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical documentation skills.
• Experience working in an onsite laboratory or engineering environment.

• 5+ years of sensor characterization or hardware validation experience.
• Experience with Imatest or similar image-quality tools
  .
• Knowledge of camera calibration and optical alignment
  .
• Experience with Python-based automated test frameworks
  .
• Familiarity with MIPI CSI-2, USB3 Vision, or GigE Vision
  .
• Experience with SPC, MSA, 5S, or quality improvement methodologies
  .
• Experience in robotics, computer vision, automation, or advanced sensing systems
  .
• Experience with AWS/cloud-based test data and analysis workflows
