The Boston Red Sox Grounds Department is focused on providing a safe, playable, and aesthetically pleasing playing surface, as well as the successful execution of numerous non‑baseball events to the highest professional standard.
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Grounds Crew team at Fenway Park is adding new seasonal members. This is an opportunity to work on the field at America’s most beloved ballpark. This role is perfect for applicants who enjoy being outside, working on a team, and have a passion for baseball. Members of the Grounds Crew will work Red Sox games, non‑baseball events, concerts, and perform daily field maintenance on non‑game days.
Hourly rate: $18.50
.
- Prepping the field for Red Sox games and various events.
- Infield skin, mound, plate, bullpen, and warning track maintenance.
- Resurfacing the infield skin during games in between innings.
- Collaborating with other crew members to pull the tarp for inclement weather.
- Setting up and breaking down batting practice screens and equipment.
- Assist in hand watering, aeration, mowing of the grass.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down extra event work including concerts, football, hockey, softball, and others.
- Cleaning and organization of Grounds Crew work areas.
- Other duties assigned by management.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, game, and non‑game days. The standard shift is the entirety of an event, including pre‑and post‑game/event activities.
- Works quickly under pressure and is an active listener.
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, supervisors, and any fan at the ballpark.
- Must be able to lift, carry and transport items more than 50 pounds.
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
