Senior Associate, Global Transaction Tax (Federal)

Join Alvarez & Marsal in this Senior Associate role on the Global Transaction Tax team.

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm dedicated to providing practical tax advice throughout the transaction lifecycle. The Global Transaction Tax team works closely with clients on buy and sell side deals across multiple industries.

• Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Perform due diligence on tax returns, financials, and other documentation to assess potential risks and opportunities.
• Review and comment on tax aspects of financial models, purchase agreements, and structuring calculations.
• Take ownership of assigned work streams, producing and preserving relevant work products for supervisor review.
• Coordinate with federal, state, local, international teams, and due‑diligence partners to deliver integrated work product.
• Begin developing client relationships, managing expectations, and tailoring deliverables.

• CPA, JD (preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM.
• At least 3 years of M&A tax practice experience at a Big 4, Big Law, or similar firm.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong writing, analytical, research, Excel, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and business‑development skills.
• Strong personal motivation and ability to work in a team.
• Capability to work in a dynamic, time‑sensitive environment.

Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus program.
