Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in Grand Circle’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team by delivering comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and analyses that identify top issues and opportunities for the company to action. This individual will serve as a key financial partner to cross-functional teams across the organization (such as Business Operations, Brand Marketing, Accounting, and Worldwide Operations), with a focus on performance by P&L line items.
By analyzing business trends and drilling into P&L line-item performance to pinpoint significant opportunities and challenges, the Senior Financial Analyst will help identify issues and opportunities and partner with business leaders to take actions that mitigate risks or maximize outcomes. This role is crucial in guiding strategic decisions and enhancing financial excellence across the organization.
The analyst will report directly to the Director of Finance. The role includes significant interface and engagement with Grand Circle’s EVP of Finance and CFO.
Responsibilities- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive financial success:
Partner with cross-functional teams (Business Operations, Brand Marketing, Accounting, Worldwide Operations, etc.) and business unit leaders to support actions that achieve or exceed the annual financial plan. - P&L ownership and analysis:
Own and monitor key P&L line items. Review financial results on a bi-weekly basis to identify variances, issues, and opportunities. Work with stakeholders to investigate anomalies and implement actions to mitigate risks or capitalize on favorable trends. - Forecasting and executive reporting:
Prepare and deliver monthly forecast updates for assigned P&L lines, including producing executive summary reports that clearly explain what’s working and what’s not. Provide bridge analyses to prior forecasts, the annual plan, and prior year results to highlight key drivers of changes. - Actuals versus Forecast reconciliation:
Partner with Accounting to reconcile actual results versus forecast, ensuring that all variances are understood, accurately quantified, and reflected correctly in the company’s forecast. - Insights for leadership (Senior Leaders and Executive Operating Group):
Develop and provide regular reporting and visibility into key metrics and results for major P&L line items. Ensure the Executive Operating Group (EOG) and senior leadership have a clear understanding of what’s driving performance and where the business stands relative to company plan targets. - Annual planning & strategy:
Participate in the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes, contributing analysis and insights that help set financial targets and align resource allocation with the company’s strategic goals. - Ad-hoc analysis:
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis of P&L changes and variances as needed, delivering insights that support timely decision-making and continuous improvement.
- 5–10 years of finance experience; financial planning, forecasting, and analysis experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be both a strong team player and an independent contributor who thrives in a fast-paced working environment.
- Must have strong Excel skills (advanced proficiency preferred); experience with Essbase and Tableau is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with demonstrated ability to work well with business partners.
- Curiosity and strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify and summarize key points.
- Developed prioritization skills and ability to balance both short-term and long-term objectives.
- History of working cross-functionally and building positive relationships with people and teams across a diverse organization.
- Ability to liaise with multiple departments.
