Finance Manager – BIDMC Orthopedics (Full-time)
Location: Boston, MA – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Employment: Full‑time, Day shift, 40 hours/week, Exempt.
Pay Range: $–$ USD.
As Finance Manager for the Department of Orthopedics, you will manage all financial activities, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and revenue‑cycle operations for the department’s physicians and service lines.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage the annual financial budget, including revenue, operating expense, capital budget, and cash flow plans for the department.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting to support clinical practice and organization‑wide fiscal reporting.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to identify issues, resolve problems, and maintain compliance with billing, reimbursement, and financial policies.
- Own revenue‑cycle operations within the department, improving performance and reporting to department leadership.
- Prepare physician compensation and allocation models and analyze divisional P&L statements to drive performance improvement.
- Oversee internal control processes and manage financial information between HMFP, BIDMC budget, and finance departments.
- Manage department financial analysts and accounts payable staff, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Translate complex financial data into clear communication tools for senior leadership and physicians.
- Perform accounting activities with HMFP and BIDMC finance departments and manage revenue and expense reconciliation.
- Develop financial plans and impact analyses for new programs, physician changes, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Maintain and document departmental policies and procedures related to finance, compensation, and reimbursement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in healthcare or business environment, with strong budgeting, financial analysis, modeling, and reimbursement experience.
- Prior experience in financial operations management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, problem‑solving, and independent work skills.
- Strong information systems familiarity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated judgment and discretion in interacting with physicians and senior management on sensitive issues.
- Influenza vaccination required as a condition of employment.
