We ve partnered with a Financial Services Firm in Boston, MA who is looking for an entry-level fund accountant to join its team. Working in their Custodial Banking Operation these roles offer training and opportunity for growth. This position is onsite with potential for hybris, and the hours are 10am to 7pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily accounting and valuation of assigned investment funds

  • Prepare and reconcile fund NAVs (Net Asset Values) on a regular basis

  • Process and record daily transactions including trades, income, and expenses

  • Reconcile cash, portfolio, and investor activity with custodians, administrators, and counter parties

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reports

  • Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responses

  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for all fund activity

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, compliance, investor relations)

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and tasks as required by senior accountants or managers

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Internship or up to 2 years of accounting or finance experience (preferred but not required)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial markets

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
