Director of Financial Reporting

Vaco has partnered with a Technology company in the Greater Boston area and they are looking to hire a Director of Reporting & Technical Accounting.

• Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, earnings releases, and related disclosures.
• Own the annual report process, coordinating with Legal, Investor Relations, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting aligned with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Serve as the in-house technical accounting authority, providing guidance on complex areas.
• Draft technical memos and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and lead the implementation of new guidance.
• Act as primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.
• Partner with internal audit and the Controller’s team to evaluate and strengthen processes.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and public company experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting concepts.
• Proven experience drafting and reviewing SEC filings.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
