The OpportunityOur client is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their Corporate Tax team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance and accuracy in our tax filings across the US while working in a supportive environment that values growth, learning, and innovation. This position offers flexible remote and hybrid work options with periodic travel to the out-of-state corporate office as needed.
KeyAccountabilities (Essential Job Functions)
- Demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and tax laws/regulations in relevant state, local, and federal jurisdictions.
- Assist the Senior Income Tax Manager in researching tax questions and issues as they arise.
- Support compliance and reporting obligations for all taxes overseen by the Tax Department, including federal, state, and local corporate income tax.
- Prepare consolidated federal 1120 income tax work papers and returns using One Source Income Tax Software to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Experience with Sage Fixed Asset Software is a plus due to the business being capital‑intensive.
- Assist in state tax apportionment calculations.
- Collaborate with external tax consultants on compliance, provision, and other tax matters.
- Gather information and assist in the preparation of year‑end and quarterly tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Communicate with departments across the company to obtain necessary documentation for tax purposes.
- Analyze and reconcile tax accruals.
- Perform annual reconciliation between taxes based on final tax returns and year‑end tax accruals to ensure accuracy.
- Research Federal and State tax notices and prepare responses.
- Support technology implementations, process improvements, and efforts to increase the efficiency of the income tax compliance and provision function; experience with Alteryx is a plus.
- Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of tax matters and the Company.
- 3+ Years of experience with Corporate Tax, including both Federal and State Compliance.
- CPA is highly preferred, but experience in public accounting is not required.
- Experience with Sage Fixed Asset system and Alteryx systems preferred.
- Great attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
