Job Description

Service Associates perform duties of both a Customer Service Representative (sales) and a Teller (transactions) in designated branch locations.

Starting Rate: $22.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and market factors. Additional compensation may apply. Eastern offers a robust benefits and retirement package.

• Simultaneously acts as a branch customer service representative and teller in authorized hybrid positions.
• Opens deposit accounts.
• Prepares and processes loan applications (mortgage, consumer, small business, etc.).
• Closes loans for applicable business lines.
• Makes referrals to other bank business lines and third‑party partners.
• Proactively reaches out to high‑value customers by phone and in person to retain and grow the portfolio.
• Ensures operational compliance and adherence to policy.
• Handles daily account maintenance and other service issues as necessary.
• Supports achievement of quarterly sales objectives.

• Processes deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, provides receipts.
• Cash checks in accordance with bank policy.
• Records sale of monetary instruments (e.g., official bank checks).
• Files government‑mandated reports related to large cash transactions and sales of monetary instruments.
• Processes foreign currency purchases and sales.
• Processes various loan payments and credit card cash advances.
• Adheres to all bank policies and procedures.

• Remains stationary for long periods without a break while in continuous customer contact.
• Capable of transporting items weighing 15 pounds or more.

• Prepares and directs actions in accordance with written policy, seeking guidance when uncertain.
• Works independently, multitasks in a fast‑paced environment, and is an outgoing self‑starter. Technically literate.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1‑2 years of sales experience in retail, financial services, or hospitality preferred.
• Some banking experience (e.g., teller) is a plus.
• Basic business acumen and professionalism.
• Effective communication skills.
• Builds relationships and strong alliances across the organization.
• Rapidly learns product and service details.
