Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a sophisticated family office to identify an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring a unique combination of deep tax expertise and direct family office experience.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished financial executive who remains highly engaged in the details, particularly around complex tax matters. • Broad ownership of the financial and tax functions
  • Opportunity to manage complex entities, investments, and financial structures
  • High level of autonomy, influence, and visibility
  • Long-term opportunity within an established family office
  • 4 days in-office in South Boston
CFO Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior financial leader and trusted advisor to family principals
  • Take a hands-on role in complex tax planning, compliance, and strategy across individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and other entities
  • Review tax returns, estimates, K-1s, and supporting schedules while proactively identifying tax planning opportunities
  • Coordinate closely with outside tax, legal, investment, and estate planning advisors
  • Oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger, close, reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, investments, and capital requirements across multiple entities
  • Provide reporting and analysis related to investments, assets, expenses, and overall financial position
  • Maintain strong controls and ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity across all financial activities
  • Support estate, trust, gifting, and wealth preservation strategies in partnership with outside advisors
  • Continuously improve financial processes, reporting, technology, and infrastructure within the family office
CFO Qualifications

  • Prior family office experience is required
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with experience overseeing complex financial structures
  • Extensive understanding of individual, partnership, trust, and entity-level taxation
  • Experience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth individuals and complex ownership structures strongly preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work effectively with external tax, legal, investment, and estate planning professionals
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, with a willingness to personally dig into complex tax and accounting matters
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle highly confidential financial information

This CFO opportunity is particularly well suited for someone who has spent their career at the intersection of tax, accounting, and family office financial management. The successful candidate will bring the technical depth to personally handle complex tax matters while having the executive presence and judgment required to lead the broader financial function.
