Head of Finance, SE Ventures

Schneider Electric has a hybrid opportunity for a CFO of SE Ventures to be based in San Francisco, CA or Boston, MA with frequent travel to Menlo Park.

SE Ventures is Schneider Electric’s global corporate venture capital platform. It invests in disruptive, mission-driven companies across energy technology, industrial technology and enterprise AI, combining capital with Schneider Electric’s domain expertise, customer reach and commercial ecosystem. The finance function serves as a strategic partner to the investment and partnership teams and Schneider Electric leadership enabling disciplined deployment, portfolio oversight and long-term value creation.

The CFO of SE Ventures is the senior finance leader for the platform and a core partner to the Global Head of SE Ventures, the Investment Committee and Schneider Electric Global Finance leadership. The role owns the end-to-end finance agenda across investment decision support, portfolio valuation, fund planning and performance, capital and liquidity management, reporting, governance, controls.

Key responsibilities
1. Strategic finance leadership and fund performance

Lead the SE Ventures finance strategy, operating model, priorities and annual roadmap across direct investments and fund investments.

Own fund-level performance analysis, including portfolio value, realized and unrealized performance, MOIC, IRR, liquidity outlook, capital deployment and scenario analysis.

Act as strategic adviser to SE Ventures and Schneider Electric leadership on capital allocation, portfolio strategy, new fund structures, incentive economics and other high-impact topics.

Translate complex portfolio and fund information into concise decision materials for senior leadership and governance forums.
2. Investment diligence and transaction governance

Partners with the investment team on the finance review/ due diligence of new and follow-on investments

Provide an independent finance recommendation for Investment Committee decisions and ensure finance questions and remediation items are resolved before funding.

Coordinate finance approvals and Delegation of Authority requirements, including engagement with the relevant Group and business finance stakeholders for material transactions.
3. Portfolio valuation and financial oversight

Delivers the recurring fair-value process for direct investments and fund positions. Present to the valuation committee for formal sign-off.

Maintain and periodically update the SE Ventures Valuation Policy and ensure consistent application of relevant accounting and industry valuation guidance.

Maintain the master investment summary and ensure accurate linkage between transaction activity, ownership, fair value, fund metrics and management reporting.
4. Fund finance, reporting, treasury and compliance

Own fund financial reporting and the coordination of recurring accounting, consolidation, audit and tax deliverables with Schneider Electric teams and external service providers.
5. Planning, budget and business partnering

Lead the SE Ventures budget, forecast and strategic planning processes, covering operating costs, headcount, external advisers, portfolio support and fund-related requirements.
6. Finance organization and stakeholder leadership

Delegate execution activities to the Senior Finance Manager while retaining ownership of judgement-intensive decisions, governance, senior stakeholder engagement and final finance recommendations.

Build effective relationships across SE Ventures, Global Finance, Strategy, business units, treasury, tax, accounting, internal control, audit and legal teams.
