Boston University Police Department seeks a full‑time Patrol Officer committed to community policing, ensuring safety, and fostering an inclusive environment for its diverse campus community.

• Respond to and investigate criminal activity and incidents on campus.
• Implement crime prevention and awareness programs.
• Handle critical incident response and management.
• Provide personal safety education and medical assistance.
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

• Graduate of a Full‑Time MA State Police Academy or Full‑Time MPTC Academy, or equivalent.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Eligible for appointment as a Special State Police Officer under M.G.L. ch.22 s. 63.
• Massachusetts Class A License to Carry and valid driver’s license.
• Completed POST Commission background checks, including psychological exam, drug test, and medical exam.
• Understanding of community policing in a diverse urban university.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; good judgment and independent decision‑making.

Salary
: $33.54 per hour (grade 00); pay range up to $38.49 per hour based on experience.

All shifts—including holidays, weekends, and overtime.

All officers are licensed as Special State Police Officers. Compliance with COVID‑19 vaccination and booster requirements within 30 days of hire is mandatory.
