Hospital Liaison, Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Location:

Boston, MA (hospital and clinic partnership)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, full time

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT, RRT, or RT) to serve as a Clinical Liaison within hospital and clinic settings across the Boston area. This role focuses on patient education, bedside setup, and troubleshooting of respiratory therapy equipment (oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, NIV). The Clinical Liaison supports transitions of care, ensures patient safety, and partners directly with physicians in sleep and pulmonary clinics.

This position includes limited in‑home responsibilities and rotating on‑call support.

Responsibilities
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses, equipment use, and symptom recognition.
  • Provide in‑person clinical support to physicians (bedside setups, CPAP mask fittings, troubleshooting).
  • Support patient discharges by setting up equipment at the bedside.
  • Conduct follow‑ups in clinic, hospital, home, or via telehealth as needed.
  • Deliver, set up, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment per physician orders.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and state licensure requirements.
  • Work closely with hospital partners and sleep/pulmonary physicians.
  • Participate in rotating on‑call coverage for life‑sustaining respiratory equipment.
Qualifications

Required

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Active licensure/certification:
    Certified, Registered, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist (CRT, RRT, or RT).
  • At least 6 months of clinical experience (new grads welcome with training).

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare/medical/insurance/DME customer service.
Work Environment & Travel
  • Primarily based in hospitals and clinics; some work in a branch office and limited in‑home visits.
  • Regular travel between Boston hospitals/clinics with mileage and public transportation reimbursement.
