Mammography Technologist II – Kenmore – Atrius Health
Position Details
- Location:
133 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 - Department:
Radiology – Mammography - Schedule:
Part time, 30 hours per week, Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities
- Confirm appropriate clinical data, obtain patient history, and use the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images for the interpreting radiologist.
- Provide emotional, physical well‑being and safety of the patient while maintaining strict standards of patient confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
- Recognize and effectively communicate equipment problems in a timely manner to the Department Supervisor.
- Provide ongoing CEU documentation to support licensure requirements for each location worked.
- Maintain continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC Test).
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- Licensed in radiography for at least 1 year.
- Passed the ARRT exam in mammography.
- ARRT or ARDMS certified if performing breast ultrasound.
- MQSA‑qualified in mammography to perform specified procedures such as stereotactic biopsy.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) knowledge may be required based on specialty.
- At least 2 years of experience as a mammography technologist.
- 1+ year performing advanced procedures (e.g., stereotactic biopsy, needle localization, breast ultrasound).
- Knowledge of mammography equipment, MQSA and ACR regulations.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR), PACS and associated imaging equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
- General knowledge of healthcare delivery services.
- Ability to learn and master new equipment and tasks related to breast image quality and safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to complete mammography or breast ultrasound exams in a timely manner under stressful conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay: $28.27 – $50.48 per hour based on full‑time employment.
- Comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility).
- Hourly pay for part‑time role will vary accordingly.
