Position Type: Part-Time (32 hours per week);
Temporary (January 2026 – June 2026)
Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Clinical Social Worker at the Manville School will provide high quality mental health treatments to a culturally diverse population of children from kindergarten through high school, utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based practice (EBP).
The clinical social worker will complete all clinical documentation, conduct diagnostic and biopsychosocial assessments, coordinate care with families, community-based providers, government agencies, and others, as appropriate, and provide consultation services as needed. Additionally, the clinical social worker functions as the internal case manager and team-leader for their assigned caseload of students, and actively participates in all Individualized Education Plan (IEP), treatment planning, and caregiver meetings.
duties
- Provides weekly therapeutic services to an assigned caseload of students.
- Provides comprehensive case management services to students and their families as assigned by the clinical director.
- Co-lead weekly clinical groups that support identity work and social emotional learning.
- Provides clinical assessments and diagnosis of students and families in a bio-psychosocial format.
- Develops clinical treatment plans and the implementation of structured treatment approaches.
- Chairs and actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings consisting of teachers, milieu counselors, and school specialists.
- Works collaboratively with outside service providers associated with the student's case.
- Provides consultation, risk assessment, and crisis intervention as necessary and requested.
- Engages and provides clinical treatment to high-risk family systems.
- Participates in the development and implementation of clinical trainings as necessary and requested.
- Provides supervision for social work graduate student interns, as requested by clinical director.
- Completes all required clinical documentation in our EMR, including intakes, progress and contact notes, treatment plans, and meeting notes.
Education:
- Master of Social Work
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts, interest in transferring out-of-state licensure, or ability to obtain licensure within 6-12 months of hire.
Experience:
- Clinical experience with children and adolescents presenting with behavioral and learning difficulties in the home and academic setting; understanding of the impact of emotional, behavioral and neurological disabilities on student functioning and development.
- 1-3 years of social work experience within a fast-paced environment, and exposure to school, inpatient, and/or residential settings, preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices (CBT and/or DBT are especially beneficial).
- Experience with case management and a foundational understanding of systems and levels of care.
- Clinical supervision experience is highly beneficial.
Training:
- Training or knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT and/or DBT).
