Base Pay Range$28.21/hr - $45.15/hr
Position Summary / Department SummaryExamines and cares for children and adults with eye problems. Performs skilled eye examinations under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.
Key Responsibilities- Performs moderately complex ophthalmic diagnostic tests (e.g., patient history, visual acuity, lensometry, tonometry, and basic sensorimotor assessments).
- Conducts ophthalmic imaging procedures as directed by clinical staff.
- Accurately records all test results and documentation, including instilling diagnostic eye drops and capturing external eye photographs.
- Supports departmental regulatory compliance, adhering to safety practices and standards set by the institution, JCAHO, HIPAA, and other governing bodies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree AND current enrollment in an Orthoptic fellowship program accredited by the American Orthoptic Council program.
