ABOUT

THE ROLE

Overstory Health is seeking a full‑time, in‑clinic Intake Specialist (Therapist) to serve as a key clinical entry point for clients seeking care. This role is primarily responsible for conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for new client intakes across our PHP and IOP programs. The Intake Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate clinical assessment, appropriate level‑of‑care determination, and a warm, supportive first experience for clients and referral partners.

In addition to intake responsibilities, this clinician may support group therapy coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care and program flexibility. This role collaborates closely with Admissions, Case Management, and the broader clinical team to support timely access to high‑quality behavioral health care.

  • Feel confident assessing risk, acuity, and appropriate levels of care
  • Want to be part of a collaborative, mission‑driven behavioral health organization
  • Are eager to be part of a fast‑paced dynamic team in a start‑up environment; this includes being an adaptive and flexible thinker, a desire to be collaborative across disciplines, and being a pragmatic problem‑solder
  • Are interested in career growth opportunities within a rapidly growing organization and are willing to wear multiple hats on day one to help the team as needed
  • Enjoy working in a non‑hierarchical environment where you will give proactive, practical, and confident feedback and opinion
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW or LMHC) actively licensed in Massachusetts (Optional)
  • Clinical experience in higher levels of care (PHP/IOP, inpatient, psychiatric emergency rooms, residential preferred; will consider PCP IBH or FQHC settings)
  • Ability and/or interest in providing clinical supervision to junior team members
  • Experience delivering both individual therapy and confidence facilitating groups independently
  • Confidence working with Medicaid populations and people with complex social needs
  • Proficiency in Google applications or willing to learn new technology quickly (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Electronic Health Record, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct Patient Assessments:
Evaluate patients during intake to determine the appropriate level of care, including Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or external referral to a community partner.
