Training Specialist

Role Overview:
This position involves developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for Sterile Processing and Endoscopy staff under the guidance of the Manager of Sterile Processing Quality and Education. The role includes delivering training, assessing staff competency, tracking outcomes, and maintaining certification records. It also entails creating orientation, progression, in-service, and continuing education programs, as well as providing clinical, consultative, and educational support within Perioperative, Sterile Processing, and Endoscopy areas.

• Designs interactive, scenario-based learning programs for sterile processing and endoscopy tasks.
• Conducts annual needs assessments to evaluate staff competency and proficiency.
• Utilizes diverse training methods and tools to maximize learning effectiveness.
• Monitors and reports on training outcomes, updating programs as needed.
• Provides individualized education on instrument care and processing, supporting perioperative staff.
• Oversees new hire orientation and maintains an education calendar for mandatory training sessions.

• Current certification from HSPA or CBSPD required; additional certifications (CER, CIS, CHL) preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Minimum of five years in SPD, including two years as a supervisor/manager and at least three years as a SPD technician.
