** Job Description*
* ** Job Summary
** The Music Therapist provides therapeutic music interventions to pediatric patients and their families, addressing physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs within a hospital setting.

** Key Responsibilities
*** Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff to identify patient care needs
* demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
* Orients patient and family to the Music Therapy program. Assesses the family's and patient's learning needs and ability to participate in program.
* Develops and follows age specific and culturally appropriate treatment plans based on standards of Music Therapy and individual needs.
* Integrates knowledge and skills gained from other staff members (social work, psych, nursing, rehab, etc.) into the treatment plan.
* Organizes and implements therapeutic group interventions for all patients that are age, culturally, and developmentally appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
* Assists with inventory, maintenance and ordering of departmental supplies.
* Orients students, visitors, and new staff to the department and its philosophy in pediatric burn care.
* Aids in supervision of child life volunteers and assistants.  
** Required Qualifications*
* * Music Therapy Board Certified (MT-BC)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days
* 1 year music knowledge, skills  
** Preferred Qualifications*
* * 1 year of pediatric

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
