About the Job
The Executive Housekeeper at Mandarin Oriental, Boston leads all aspects of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service. The Executive Housekeeper reports to the Director of Rooms and oversees public areas, guest rooms, laundry, and the house core.
Responsibilities- Supervise all housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry attendants, public area attendants, supervisors, and the Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
- Motivate, train, evaluate, and discipline employees.
- Plan daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly assignments and projects.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, purchase requests, and consumption reports.
- Control department labour costs while maintaining five‑star service standards.
- Schedule walk‑throughs and coordinate outside contractors.
- Maintain a Safe & Sound program.
- Inspect all public areas, guestrooms, exterior buildings, and back‑house areas daily to ensure cleanliness standards.
- Monitor deep‑cleaning progress and assign tasks.
- Conduct daily standards testing to ensure adherence to Mandarin Oriental, Boston standards.
- Respond to guest queries, provide assistance, and resolve complaints urgently.
- Assist in line‑level functions as needed.
- Conduct daily communication meetings.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role; luxury hospitality experience strongly preferred.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent administrative proficiency.
- Proficient speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds for prolonged periods.
- College degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 annually.
