Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, this individual will play a critical role in assisting with the day‑to‑day HR of a public biotechnology company. The Human Resources Coordinator will contribute across HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Lifecycle and Talent Acquisition, performing administrative work and coordinating with other departments. The role requires accuracy, timeliness and a generalist mindset.
Elicio (ELTX) is a growing organization based in the Seaport area of Boston, Massachusetts, with staff also working remotely across the Greater Boston area and throughout the United States.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities HR Operations & Administration
- Act as the initial point of contact on HR‑related inquiries from employees
- Assist in communicating and ensuring consistent application of Company policies
- Monitor the HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure accuracy of employee files
- Answer employee requests promptly and accurately
- Maintain employee resources within the HRIS, ensuring they are easily accessible and up‑to‑date
- Perform daily HR administrative tasks
- Enroll employees into benefit systems
- Audit and maintain accurate benefit enrollments
- Answer employee questions regarding benefits
- Assist with compensation reporting as needed
- Support the full employee lifecycle by coordinating onboarding (HRIS, documents, orientation, etc.) and offboarding (notifications, exit interviews, final documentation, etc.)
- Notify key stakeholders of onboardings and offboardings
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
- Collaborate with Senior HR leadership on performance reviews and documentation
- Assist managers with performance review tracking
- Work with HR leadership to maintain up‑to‑date job descriptions
- Coordinate interview schedules
- Notify candidates of status via the Company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- 1–3 years of Human Resources experience
- Degree in Human Resources or a relevant major
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Strong multitasking, deadline management and adaptability to a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Capability to work independently and across business groups
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams
- Team player able to handle competing priorities and fill gaps as needed
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical settings
- Experience in a small‑company environment (under 50 employees)
- Experience in a public company
- Prior work with an HRIS and an ATS
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, etc.)
This is a full‑time contractor role, starting Monday through Friday. The work environment is a busy office/laboratory setting with frequent deadlines and interruptions. Travel is not required. Physical requirements include periods of sitting or standing, with vision needed to monitor data. The position is hybrid: onsite 2–3 days per week and remotely for the remaining days.
CompensationHourly rate: $33.00 – $43.00 per hour, dependent upon experience and relevant qualifications.
