Role Overview

Biotechnology is rewriting life as we know it, from the medicines we take, to the crops we grow, the materials we wear, and the household goods that we rely on every day. But moving at the new speed of science requires better technology.

Benchling’s mission is to unlock the power of biotechnology. The world’s most innovative biotech companies use Benchling’s R&D Cloud to power the development of breakthrough products and accelerate time to milestone and market.

Come help us bring modern software to modern science.

The demand for accelerating scientific research is greater than ever. Benchling enables companies to discover more molecules and bring them to market faster with our end‑to‑end research and development solutions. As a Product Manager, you will partner with our talented build teams to deliver solutions for scientists who are developing life‑saving drugs and therapies.

We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the end‑to‑end product strategy, go‑to‑market, and execution for Benchling’s small molecule solution, a critical new product line built to be AI native from the ground up. You will define the strategy, roadmap, and lead execution for this critical product area, working cross‑functionally with scientists, engineers, designers, and go‑to‑market teams to bring new capabilities to life.

This is a high‑impact role at the intersection of product, science, and AI—ideal for a product leader passionate about accelerating scientific discovery.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for Benchling’s small molecule R&D solution, prioritizing features based on market opportunity, customer needs, and business impact.
  • Own the go‑to‑market strategy for the product, collaborating with marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure successful launch and adoption.
  • Partner closely with customers and field teams to deeply understand our customer’s scientific workflows, pain points, and market trends.
  • Translate domain‑specific insights into intuitive, scalable software capabilities with exceptional UX/UI that integrate seamlessly across Benchling’s platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and data teams to deliver high‑quality products on time and measure success using clear product KPIs.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders, communicating priorities, trade‑offs, and expected business outcomes clearly and persuasively.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software product management experience, preferably with a B2B SaaS product.
  • Proven ability to lead and ship complex product initiatives and drive 0→1 product development.
  • Bias for action and a history of shipping products quickly and iteratively in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
  • Knowledge of small molecule R&D or a demonstrated track record of rapidly building domain expertise in a complex, regulated industry.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in cross‑functional, fast‑moving environments.
  • Empathetic collaborator who can bridge the gap between scientists, engineers, and business teams.
  • We’ve learned that people hesitate to apply without quantifiable years of experience. However, what’s most important to us is the kind of experiences you’ve had and the skills you’ve developed along the way, regardless of how long it took you to get there. Have well over 5 years of experience? That’s great! Have fewer than 5 years, but feel you meet the other requirements?

    That’s ok too! Please apply.
