Platform Engineer Manager - Applications

Join Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a Platform Engineer Manager – Applications. BCG partners with leaders in business and society to solve complex challenges. This role focuses on leading the engineering, administration, and optimization of personal productivity applications across BCG.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering & Administration – manage and configure enterprise application services across both legacy and cloud platforms; lead upgrades, rollouts, patching, and migrations.

• Conduct health checks, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of productivity tools.

• Integrate applications with third‑party platforms or in‑house solutions; support complex deployments and ensure high availability.

• Governance, Documentation & Support – define and maintain SOPs, administrative practices, and end‑user documentation; develop governance frameworks around licensing, lifecycle, and architecture.

• Provide Tier 3 escalation support and resolve complex technical issues; mentor service desk teams.

• Collaboration & Cross‑Team Engagement – coordinate with network, security, and support teams for seamless service delivery; participate in planning, migrations, upgrades, and project execution; liaise directly with vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe.

Core Focus Areas

• Deliver engineering and operational support for Microsoft 365 apps, Adobe Acrobat, MS Forms, and other productivity tools.

• Drive standardization and operational consistency across the firm’s application portfolio; guide the M365 Application Governance Council.

• Contribute to the strategy and implementation of productivity‑enhancing tools firmwide.

Experience Required

• 5+ years managing enterprise‑grade applications, 3–5 years in Microsoft 365 administration.

• Proven experience in Adobe Creative Cloud deployment.

• Strong background in enterprise M365 configuration, governance, and automation tools (Power Automate, Power Shell, Microsoft Graph API).

• Advanced scripting and data analysis using Power Shell, Graph

API, SQL, and Power BI for bulk administration, service management, reporting, and visualising metrics.

• Experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access, Defender for Office 365, Intune; cross‑platform application management (Windows, Mac OS, iOS).

• Application development lifecycle experience; incident management, security compliance, vulnerability remediation; KPI definition and reporting.

• English proficiency (C2) demonstrated by IELTS 8.5+ or comparable.

• B.S. CS/MIS or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications



Certifications:

MS‑100, MS‑101, SC‑300, AZ‑900.

• Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops.

• Enterprise‑level security policy enforcement and tooling compliance experience.

Strong communication skills, ability to convey technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.

• Organisational and time‑management skills; proactive problem‑solver; collaborative mindset; clear, confident communicator; strong documentation.

Compensation

Base salary range for this role in Atlanta: $121,000 – $147,700. Total compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus up to 16%, retirement contribution starting at 5% and moving to 10% after 2 years, and a market‑leading benefits package.
