Job Description
As a SRE/Database Administrator, you will be responsible for building, managing, and securing Oracle databases & Exadata Infrastructure (Prod & Non-Prod on Prem and VMs in OCI), performing complex issue investigation, capacity management, scripting, and seeking automation opportunities. You will triage database alerts and issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting non‑production and production standby databases, Golden Gate, including mentoring of the team and facilitating communications with leadership, clients, and peers.
You will also develop standardization, policies, and best practices in‑house in alignment with industry standards, cyber requirements, and MAA best practices. This will be accomplished through documentation, knowledge transfers, and automation. Willingness to work additional hours as needed and allowed by local regulations is essential. The primary focus develops, matures, and grows the technical aspect of the program, team, and ensures stability and scalability to the client.
Oracle’s Health and Federal Database Services Team is actively seeking a dedicated, reliable, and driven Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Federal Database Team. This position is based in the United States and presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the improvement of healthcare services within a dynamic multi‑tenant cloud environment.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in achieving our mission to enhance healthcare services. Your key responsibilities include:
- Triage and troubleshoot complex database alerts and issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions and seek opportunities for automation.
- Implement and maintain advanced database security in compliance with DISA STIGs.
- Conduct proactive database forecasting.
- Establish best practices for all aspects of database management, architecture, security, and automation.
- Identify industry trends and align with MAA best practices.
- Communicate with peers, leadership, client, and cross‑team channels to achieve maximum alignment on projects and client requirements.
- Consult with development teams on optimal data architectures, and database physical structure and functional capabilities and cyber compliance.
- Evaluate and implement process and technology improvements through automation to enhance availability, capacity and performance of database systems.
- Lead development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures on database technologies and cloud databases.
- Contribute to strategic projects outlined in our roadmap, focusing on transitioning on‑premises databases to Oracle Cloud.
- Lead planning and develop strategies to migrate databases to the Autonomous Database, ensuring a seamless transition for optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams, actively participating in the execution of roadmap projects.
Certain US customer or client‑facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations onlyUS:
Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
