Network Engineer; Network Infrastructure

Overview

Role:
Network Engineer responsible for the firm’s network reliability, performance, and security in a high-stakes, always-on environment. This is an on-site position in Boston, MA.

• Design and plan network layouts across LANs, WANs, and wireless networks
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Monitor performance, analyze traffic, troubleshoot outages, and drive root-cause fixes
• Implement security controls to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
• Forecast capacity needs and plan upgrades to improve speed, resilience, and scalability
• Partner with vendors on escalations, technical issues, and contract support
• Maintain clean documentation: diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides
• Support projects and other duties as assigned in a fast-paced environment

• 5+ years of experience managing network infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, BGP, OSPF, and network security concepts
• Hands-on experience with multi-vendor network hardware
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
• Strong organizational skills with comfort managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelors degree preferred (CS, IT, or related), or equivalent experience
• Experience in an AmLaw 200 or larger law firm is a plus
• Certifications and ILTA involvement are a plus

Must have 5+ years of network infrastructure management experience and strong fundamentals in routing, switching, and network security (including TCP/IP and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF). A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
