AI Engineer, Data Analyst
Job Description
Income Research + Management seeks an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to join the Technology Team. They will work on highly engaging projects and explore emerging tools and AI technologies in a project team setting. They’ll need technical and finance knowledge to help us solve challenges relating to portfolio construction, as well as AI platform and application development to drive automation, data analysis, and workflow efficiency.
The role requires an understanding of fixed income markets, bond analytics, and basic knowledge of generative AI models, statistical methods, and machine learning frameworks such as Python and Azure/OpenAI APIs, with practical skills in developing and deploying internal AI platforms and applications. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented self-starter with an eye toward detail. This highly visible role will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Technology.

Contribute to the design and development of internal AI platforms and applications, including generative AI solutions that support automation, analytics, and decision-making across the firm.
Build and maintain data acquisition and transformation pipelines to provide clean, reliable datasets for AI and analytics initiatives.
Collaborate with Architects and cross-functional teams on projects that advance the firm’s technology capabilities.
Support the growth and adoption of the firm’s data science and AI platforms, fostering a community of practice among users.
Create and maintain clear documentation of project designs, workflows, and technical artifacts.
Participate in key project responsibilities, including design reviews, process and gap analysis, functional design, unit testing, and execution.
Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and related frameworks to support AI and data-driven initiatives.
Apply Agile development methodologies to deliver high-quality technology solutions in iterative, collaborative project cycles.
RequirementsStrong understanding of fixed income instruments and investment workflows, with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Python and related data science packages, with experience in building data pipelines and working with relational databases.
Familiarity with statistical modeling, forecasting, and applying insights through AI or data-driven applications.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Experience with cloud platforms, AI frameworks, and Agile development methodologies.
Prior work in a corporate or financial technology setting is a plus.
Educational RequirementsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
Expected graduation date:
December 2026 or May 2027
Relevant internship experience preferred
