Principal Research Engineer

Our AI and Applied Science team is looking for a Principal Research Engineer to work on foundational technology for our AI Data platform  and intelligent applications. In this role you will bridge core AI development and production implementation and take responsibility for building codebases and infrastructure for highly visibly AI products from the ground up. You will partner with teams of applied scientists and production engineers to prototype AI solutions, optimize code for performance and speed, and deploy your solutions into products with a global customer reach.

** Responsibilities*
* The role requires a deep technical understanding of LLM architectures, training, and inference. Hands-on experience in LLM adaptation, model hosting, and inference

efficiency optimization are a must. Experience in foundation models for structured data, tabular representation learning, graph-based learning, or time series modeling is a strong plus. We are looking for candidates who flourish in a fast-paced startup setting, excel at translating ambiguity into clarity, and value end-to-end ownership.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with a applied scientists and engineers to transition science solutions into production codebases.

- Write high quality production-ready code; refactor, optimize and scale existing code.

- Identify new opportunities for engineering improvements; actively contribute to improving existing infrastructure and development practices.

- Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and developments in engineering for AI.

Qualifications and

Experience:

- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in AI/Generative AI/Machine Learning in an industry setting

- Hands-on development experience and a history of transitioning science solutions into successfully deployed products

- Deep understanding of state-of-the-art AI models for structured and unstructured data and their engineering implementations

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Strong communication skills and a flexible, collaborative mindset.

- Excellent coding skills (Python, SQL, C/C++); familiarity with vLLM, Tensor-RT, Deep Speed, and similar frameworks.

Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
