Boston, MA or Newburyport, MA – Full Time (In office Mon–Thurs, Fri – Remote)

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and results-oriented Digital Marketing Specialist to support and elevate the digital presence of our portfolio of local and regional clients. This position will sit within our Integrated Marketing team and partner closely with strategy, creative, and account leadership. Candidates must be willing and able to work from our Newburyport office, or split time between Boston and Newburyport.

The Role

We’relooking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to support Matter’s growing portfolio of local businesses with organic social,CRM,andemail marketing programs that deliver practical, efficient, and scalable support for lean teams and growing businesses.

The Digital Marketing Specialist is a hands‑on role focused on execution, optimization, and learning—ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working across teams, and buildingexpertiseacross multiple marketing with close collaboration and mentorship.

What You’ll Do Organic Social & Community Engagement
  • Develop, schedule, and publish organic social content across platforms such as Instagram, Linked In, Facebook, and X/Twitter in collaboration with social, creative, and account teams
  • Support content development by adapting brand messaging into platform‑appropriate posts, captions, and basic visual or written assets
  • Assist with light community management, including monitoring comments and messages, flagging engagement opportunities, and escalating responses as needed
  • Track and report on organic social performance, pulling metrics and helping analyze engagement, audience growth, and content effectiveness
Email Marketing & CRM
  • Build, test, and optimize email marketing campaigns and marketing automation workflows using platforms such as Hub Spot and other CRM tools
  • Support CRM‑driven initiatives including list management, segmentation, and basic reporting
  • Local marketing, including paid and organic search, paid and organic social, events, etc.

I would add local promotional marketing – search marketing, targeted social ads, awareness campaigns

Website & Foundational Branding Support
  • Collaborate closely with creative and strategy teams to support foundational branding and website development for local and growing businesses
  • Assist with content updates, page builds, and light site management using platforms such as Wix and Squarespace
Reporting, Optimization & Insights
  • Monitor campaign performance across channels and prepare regular reports to support optimization and learning
  • Conduct basic competitive research and audience analysis to inform digital and brand strategy recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
  • Execute and support day‑to‑day digital marketing programs for local and growing businesses across organic social, email, CRM, and web
  • Partner with teams across the agency, including digital, social, creative, strategy, and account leadership—to deliver efficient, entry‑level digital support for lean teams and local businesses
Tools, Efficiency & Learning
  • Use available tools, including AI‑assisted and automation platforms, to support content development, reporting, and workflow efficiency
  • Stay curious and continue learning by keeping up with digital marketing trends, platform updates, and tools that improve execution and efficiency
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing with hands‑on experience in organic social media, paid campaigns, email marketing, and reporting.
  • Foundational experience supporting organic social media programs, including content publishing, basic reporting, and light community engagement across platforms such as Linked In, Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter
  • Familiarity with website platforms such as Word Press, Wix or Squarespace, and interest in supporting foundational website and brand initiatives in collaboration with creative teams
  • Experience using analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM reporting, or social analytics platforms) to track performance and support optimization
