Overview
AT&T Consulting is seeking a Senior Network Data Center Consultant to support a global financial services client. You will work as part of a collaborative delivery team responsible for network design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting across an enterprise, globally distributed environment. This role requires expert-level depth from data center core to edge, including advanced routing and large-scale infrastructure operations.
What you’ll do
Lead and support network design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments
Own and optimize data center core and edge routing/switching for a globally diverse infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex issues across routing, switching, security, and network services platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to successful delivery
Provide guidance and technical leadership to other engineers
Core skills (must-have)
Routing & Switching (Expert level)
Data center core & edge routing/switching across LAN/WAN/MAN
Hands-on expertise with Cisco (including Nexus), plus exposure to Juniper and/or Arista
Expert troubleshooting and implementation
Deep routing protocol knowledge: BGP, OSPF (RIP a plus)
Networking Fundamentals
Strong TCP/IP knowledge: design, subnetting, and troubleshooting
Experience with network service platforms such as F5, Infoblox, and/or ACI
Solid Layer 2 knowledge: VLANs, 802.1Q, Spanning Tree
Remote Access & Wireless (some exposure)
Remote access technologies: VPN, SSL
Some corporate wireless experience
Additional skills (highly valued)
SD-WAN / MPLS
Experience configuring and troubleshooting SD-WAN devices/platforms such as Viptela, Velo Cloud, Versa, Forti Gate, Silver Peak (or similar)
QoS & Network Security
QoS design and troubleshooting experience
Security tooling and concepts: ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Illumio, Check Point, ZTA, Private Access, SASE
Automation
Scripting with Python is a plus
Nice-to-have (secondary)
Voice/
Collaboration:
CUCM, Contact Center, enterprise cloud voice platforms (Genesys, Avaya One Cloud, Twilio)SIP and SBC experience:
Ribbon, Oracle, and/or Cisco CUBEMS Teams voice (Direct Routing), E911 integrations (Intrado ERS/EGW, Red Sky)
SIP protocol experience
What we’re looking for
10+ years of network experience in a large enterprise/global environment (complex infrastructure)
15+ years total IT industry experience; 10+ years as a network consultant preferred
CCIE or equivalent expertise (certification preferred, but strong equivalent experience works)
Strong documentation, communication, and customer-facing skills
Collaborative, organized, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively
Comfortable leading technically and mentoring less experienced engineers

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must currently reside in New England and be able to travel onsite to Boston monthly
