Job Description
Senior Manager APM (Agile Program Manager, AI Platform)
Employment Type:
Freelance contract with potential to convert to a full-time role
Location:
Boston, MA — 4 days per week on-site
We are seeking an accomplished Agile Program Manager to lead delivery for an enterprise AI platform and the portfolio of intelligent agents built on it. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone who can bring structure, momentum, and technical fluency to complex AI initiatives across engineering, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
What You’ll Do- Own the roadmap, release planning, and delivery cadence for a multi-team AI platform.
- Coordinate dependencies across platform engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure predictable execution.
- Lead intake and prioritization of AI agent use cases, translating business needs into clearly scoped, sequenced backlog items.
- Establish production‑readiness gates covering evaluation results, security testing, observability, identity and secrets controls, and rollback planning.
- Partner with business sponsors and technical teams to turn enterprise constraints into practical delivery decisions.
- Define governance, human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints, and audit‑ready evidence for reliable, compliant AI solutions.
- Track and communicate meaningful outcomes, including adoption, quality, delivery speed, incidents, and cost efficiency.
- 8+ years of program, product, or delivery management experience leading complex, cross‑functional technical initiatives.
- Strong command of scaled Agile practices, including release planning, dependency management, and multi‑team delivery.
- Working knowledge of AI agent ecosystems, including LLMs, retrieval‑augmented generation, orchestration, tool calling, evaluations, and guardrails.
- Technical fluency with SQL and the ability to interpret logs, telemetry, and evaluation results.
- Experience using AI tools to improve delivery efficiency, documentation, analysis, or team productivity.
- Familiarity with Azure environments and enterprise controls such as identity, network security, secrets management, and change approval.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, or related enterprise AI platforms.
- Exposure to AI evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, red teaming, and responsible AI release processes.
- Background supporting production platforms, including SLOs, incident management, and operational readiness.
- Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
You are a proactive, detail‑oriented program leader who identifies delivery risks early and drives teams toward clear, evidence‑based outcomes. You are equally comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and technical practitioners, bringing the judgment, discipline, and client presence needed to move high‑impact AI programs from concept to production.
Contract term:
Expected through May 2027, with the potential to transition to a full‑time position.
