Lead Data Architect

Boston, MA 100% Remote Full Time $140k - $160kWe’re looking for a Lead Data Architect to lead the design and development of a modern, cloud-based data platform. This role focuses on Snowflake, data architecture, and data engineering, helping build reliable, scalable data solutions that support business operations, reporting, and advanced analytics.

Required Skills & Experience5–10 years of experience in data architecture and data engineering, including technical leadership.

Strong expertise in data modeling and enterprise data architecture.

Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.

Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python.

Experience developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.

Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, lineage, and governance.

Experience mentoring engineers and communicating technical designs to senior leadership.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.

Desired Skills & Experience Experience in the insurance industry.

Snowflake certification.

Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.

Knowledge of change data capture (CDC), event-driven architecture, APIs, and data orchestration.

Experience with master data management (MDM), canonical data modeling, and Power BI or other BI tools.

Daily Responsibilities Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data architecture.

Build scalable, automated data pipelines and modernize legacy processes.

Establish standards for data modeling, quality, security, and governance.

Optimize Snowflake performance, cost, and reliability.

Design bronze, silver, and gold data layers for data ingestion and analytics.

Mentor engineers, review technical designs and code, and guide engineering best practices.

Partner with business, analytics, actuarial, and technology teams to deliver data solutions.
