Healthcare Data Analyst

The Musculoskeletal Digital Innovation and Informatics (MDI²) Program in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Data Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team of biomedical engineers, orthopedic surgeons, and computer and data scientists. This role focuses on translational research to develop data pipelines that analyze electronic medical records, enabling immediate impact on patient care for musculoskeletal conditions.

• Develop strategies for cohort identification.
• Query electronic medical records.
• Post-process and clean data for high-quality analysis and registry development.
• Contribute to developing and validating pipelines for automated information extraction.

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Strong expertise in Python programming.
• Strong expertise in SQL and database querying.
• Experience working with healthcare datasets and electronic medical records, particularly the Epic platform.
• Experience using and developing applications with large language models.

• Experience building scalable data processing pipelines for large healthcare datasets.
• Experience applying machine learning methods to clinical or healthcare data.
• Experience contributing to machine learning or data science research, such as publications, clinical studies, or algorithm development.
• Familiarity with natural language processing or clinical text analysis.
